MS Dhoni is a cult figure who needs no introduction. The right-hand wicketkeeper batter has achieved everything there was to achieve with the national side and still continues to compete in the Indian T20 League at this ripe age.

It is quite often that videos of the player make rounds of social media even if the player is not playing. One such video has made it to social media in which the World Cup winner is seen hitting six similar to what he did in the World Cup 2011 Final.

Here's the video:

The video shows Dhoni sending a fuller delivery out of the ropes the same way as he did against Nuwan Kulasekara at the Wankhede Stadium, in Mumbai. Commentary of the legendary Ravi Shastri wherein he says, “Dhoni finished off in style.”

How the iconic game played out:

The match between India and Sri Lanka in the World Cup 2011 Final remains as one of the most memorable matches in the history of the game. Sri Lanka batted first and made 274/6 in the first inning on the back of Mahela Jayawardene’s incredible 103* in just 83 balls.

While the score was not humongous by any standards, when added to the pressure of chasing in the final, it sure did seem challenging for India. The Men in Blue lost their star players Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag early on at just 31 runs.

This is when Gautam Gambhir shouldered the responsibility and brought India out of its misery with his brilliant 97 off 122 balls. The match however needed a leader to steer the team to victory. Captain Dhoni walked in at number five and stuck Sri Lanka bowlers all around the stadium.

Dhoni made 91 off 79 with 8 fours and 2 sixes. The most iconic shot from his match-winning inning however was the one that he hit on the very last ball. That shot is still remembered by all fans who watched it live and the nostalgia continues to grow deeper.
