MS Dhoni is one of the finest captains from India and the veteran won as many as three trophies for India. On Saturday, the Ranchi-born said that he will go live on Sunday to reveal some exciting news. While fans speculated that he might announce his retirement but MS Dhoni had other plans.
Putting all the speculations to rest, the former Indian skipper launched the biscuit brand ‘Oreo’ in India. However, what baffled the fans was his reference to the 2011 50-over World Cup. MS Dhoni highlighted the launch of the brand in 2011 and linked it to the 2011 World Cup win. The Ranchi-born assured that India will win the 20-20 World Cup this year as he is relaunching it.
“Oreo was launched in 2011 and India won the World Cup in 2011. This year there is another World Cup and if Oreo can launch again,” Dhoni left the rest for the crowd to answer and they answered, “India can win the World Cup again”. Here’s the video of the same:

MS Dhoni links the current year's 20-20 World Cup to the 2011 50-over World Cup
MS Dhoni further linked the current year's 20-20 World Cup to the 2011 50-over World Cup saying that he flaunts the same hairstyle as it was in 2011. Further, the former Indian cricketer highlighted the similarities between the current jersey and the 2011 jersey and backed India to win the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
"Same jersey, same hairstyle. I am bringing back 2011, you also bring. Because to create history, we need to recreate history," he said further. MS Dhoni mentored team India in the 20-20 World Cup 2021 and the team bowed out on the back of poor performances. However, the chances for India to win the current year's World Cup look bleak as they are in poor form.
MS Dhoni also had to face backlash for his statement as fans claimed he is using the 20-20 World Cup to promote the brand. A few fans claimed that he is business-minded and the statement made no sense. As it stands, India will look to do well in the upcoming 20-20 World Cup and prove a point to the critics.
