The Afghanistan side has had two outstanding encounters in the 2022 Asia Cup as they have already beaten Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in dominating fashion to ensure qualification for the Super Four phase. The Afghani side was clinical in their first match as they completely demolished the Lanka side.
In their next encounter, Afghanistan was rocked in the chase, but some excellent batting from Ibrahim Zadran and Najibullah Zadran aced the chase for Afghanistan. After the game against Bangladesh, Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi came up with a heartfelt gesture for a specially-abled fan, who was wheelchair-bound and is doing the rounds on the internet.
In the video which has been doing the rounds on social media, Nabi can be seen walking up to the elderly fan, accompanied by a man, and bending down in front of her to seek her blessings. The old lady also replied in kind and gave Nabi a kiss on the forehead.

As mentioned above, Afghanistan batters showed tremendous application with the bat in hand against Bangladesh and qualified for the next stage of Asia Cup 2022.
Post Match, Nabi emphasized, “Everyone knows both Mujeeb and Rashid are world-class bowlers. They again showed their talent and ability. We plan to take early wickets to be ahead in the game. Everyone knows that we have power hitters in our team. We finished the game really well. Gurbaz tried a lot but couldn’t hit them well. Shakib bowled brilliantly.”
Meanwhile, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka took on each other in a do-or-die clash, on September 1 (Thursday). Sri Lanka got the better of Bangladesh and won by two wickets in the encounter. The winning run came in an anti-climatic fashion of a no-ball. It was a heart stopper and the pendulum swung constantly throughout the match.
For Sri Lanka, The chase of 183 was aced by Kusal Mendis and Dasun Shanaka, who scored 60 and 45, respectively, which helped Sri Lanka get over the line in dramatic fashion.
