Ever since FIFA World Cup 2022 kicked off between Qatar and Ecuador on November 20, upsets and Asian nations have become the talk of the sports town, given that Saudi Arabia produced the biggest upset in history when they defeated Argentina in their opening clash of the campaign.

Post the humbling defeat, La Albiceleste faced off against Mexico in the Group C match and it was a must-win game for the team as a loss could potentially force them to crash out of the biggest sporting event. It was not the case as Lionel Messi and his men were completely dominating the first half, with terrific pass accuracy and by holding possession.

The game of football is all about creating chances and Argentina eventually managed to do the same, although they failed to put one past the Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa within the first 20 minutes of the game. To add more, both teams managed to keep the ball and eventually dominate the entire section of the campaign. With Lionel Messi calling it to be the final World Cup, the star player would look to help Argentina to claim the 3 points and he did as he scored the lead for the team in the 64th minute.

However, despite putting on a great fight, Mexico failed to match the lead, to make the group interesting and Argentina, who lost their campaign opener to Qatar, managed to clinch their first win of the ongoing multinational tournament and their star player, Enzo Fernández, eventually managed to double the lead on the back of a stupendous effort in the 87th minute.

Argentina would hope to turn things around and would also thrive for pride, while the likes of Saudi Arabia and Poland became early favourites to make a cut to the Round of 16 stage respectively.

The Polish side, on the other hand, are still the topper of the group and would hope to carry on with the momentum. Argentina made a stunning comeback post a sepulchral outing against Saudi Arabia in their campaign opener and kept their knockout dreams alive.
