After a 36 year long wait, Argentina managed to lift the World Cup trophy on Sunday. The soul of Diego Maradona can finally rest in peace as Argentina have got their hands on the trophy.
Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties after 120 minutes of intense football where the scores were tied 3-3. Ariel Montiel scored the winning spot kick which brought all the Argentina fans present in the stadium into a rupture as they cheered for their hero for bringing the World Cup Trophy to South America. Messi scored twice for Argentina. He scored the first goal via a penalty and then came back and scored another one in the 109th minute.
Messi felt weak on his knees as tears of joy overflowed from his eyes when the winning moment happened. He had also replicated a feat that Diego Maradona had done all those years back and that was to win a World Cup for Argentina.
