India and Bangladesh locked horns with each other in Adelaide on Wednesday. India got off to a bad start as Rohit Sharma was shown the door early. However, the ship was steadied by KL Rahul and Virat Kohli who took the score to 78 before Rahul was dismissed in the 10th over.

Rahul wasn't in the best of form in his last three innings but in a do or die game against Bangladesh on Wednesday, he made sure that he contributes to the team’s cause, scoring a wonderful half-century off just 32 balls with three fours and four sixes. His knock allowed India to get to a big total of 184–6 in their 20 overs.

Rahul also ensured that he contribute on the field as well as he affected a run-out on the second ball of the 17th over. Ashwin bowled one to Shanto which he flicked it to deep mid-wicket after coming down the track. Shanto wanted to go back for the second but Das was slow. A full length dive was not enough as a direct hit from Rahul comes from the deep. Das stumbled while taking the second run and was, eventually, found short of his ground.

Here is the video:

It was a really close run-out and what worked in favour of India was that it was a direct hit and Das had slipped while taking the second run. It was a wonderful day for Rahul as he scored a game-changing 50 and affected a much needed run- out for his country in a do or die clash.

Virat Kohli also scored a vital 64 off 44 balls with eight fours and one maximum. India were also helped by contributions from Suryakumar Yadav, who made 30 off 16 balls with four fours, while Ravichandran Ashwin played a good cameo of 13 off 6 balls, including one four and one six.

India, eventually, won the game by 5 runs and climbed to the top of the points table.
