KL Rahul, on Day 1 of the second Test between India and Australia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Friday, took a stunning catch to dismiss Usman Khawaja. After finishing his half-century, Khawaja appeared completely at ease, and it took a special effort on the field to finally get rid of him.
The Australia opener attempted an ambitious reverse sweep, but KL Rahul completed the one-handed catch with a full-stretched dive. Khawaja batted for 125 deliveries and scored 81 runs, including 12 boundaries and a six. His inning has been the best for the visitors so far in the series.
Khawaja was taken aback by the catch and looked up in horror as he walked towards the pavilion. The dismissal also marked a first for Jadeja in the match, who became the second-fastest player in Test cricket history to record 2,500 runs and 250 wickets.

Earlier, Khawaja hit a quick fifty, but Ravichandran Ashwin's twin strike gave India the upper hand, leaving Australia at 94 for 3 at lunch on the first day of the second Test. Despite Khawaja's well-constructed knock, Ashwin (2/29 in 10 overs) removed Marnus Labuschagne (18) and Steve Smith (0) in quick succession.
Australia faced a mammoth innings-and-132-run victory in the first Test of the series in Nagpur, and a win in the ongoing second Test will ensure the hosts retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Jadeja was also an important part of the team's victory in Nagpur, where he was named player of the match. He took seven wickets (including a five-wicket haul in the first innings) and scored an important 70-run knock for the side.
At the time of writing this article, the Kangaroos have lost six wickets for a score of 201 runs in 60 overs. Peter Handscomb, batting at 37 runs in 89 balls, and team captain Pat Cummins, batting at 24 runs in 41 balls, are in the middle. India will now look to keep Australia restricted on a low score.
