Watch: Kieron Pollard pulls off a one-handed stunner against Desert Vipers in ILT20

On 24 January 2023, MI Emirates took on Desert Vipers in the ongoing ILT20 tournament. It was the 15th match of the tournament. Both teams were eyeing the top spot at the table by winning that clash. So, fans were eager to see an enthralling battle between these sides in Abu Dhabi.

However, Desert Vipers won the match by seven wickets. Sherfane Rutherford won the game for his team with a blistering knock. But, during their innings, the MI Emirates’ skipper, Kieron Pollard came up with a fantastic catch and stunned everyone. Fans were also left crazy and that video has now gone viral.

Kieron Pollard also scored 67* runs off 39 balls in the match

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the eighth over of Desert Vipers’ innings. Colin Munro was batting while Samit Patel was bowling. On the second delivery of that over, Munro tried to whip Patel for a six after hitting one on the first delivery. But, Pollard was there at the boundary line in the long-on region.

He timed his jump perfectly and took the one-handed stunner. However, it was not the first time when Kieron pollard took that type of catch. His fans are all aware of such grabs during his playing days in the Indian T20 League and the international arena. Speaking of the match, Desert Vipers won the toss and choose to bowl first. While batting first, MI Emirates scored 169 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Skipper Kieron pollard was the star with the bat as he scored 67* runs off 39 balls. 

He hit one four and six over-boundaries at a strike rate of 171.79. For Desert Vipers, Tom Curran took two wickets for 38 runs in four overs. In reply, Vipers chased down the target in 16.3 overs with seven wickets to spare. Alex Hales scored 62* runs off 44 balls while Sherfane Rutherford scored 56* runs off 29 balls. With this win, they are now sitting at the top of the table with eight points in five matches.
