On January 18, Wednesday, in SA20, Pretoria Capitals squared off against Joburg Super Kings and it was the Capitals who came out on top chasing a target of 123 runs with 6 wickets to spare. To add more, it was James Neesham who stood up in the first innings with his three-for, after conceding only 7 runs in his spell of 4 overs, restricting the Super Kings to a meagre total.
The New Zealand allrounder bagged the Player of the Match award for his stupendous outing with the ball and one of the takeaways from the game was his catch to dismiss Alzarri Joseph off South African pacer Anirch Nortje in the 12th over of the game. As far as the chase is concerned, the English star batter Philip Salt scored an unbeaten 52 and helped the Capitals breach past the target.

We were disappointed in ourselves last night: James Neesham
Post the conclusion of the game, the Kiwi allrounder said that they were disappointed with their previous outing against the Super Kings and claimed that they felt motivated ahead of the game. Opening up on Joseph’s catch, Neesham said that the ball got stuck in his hands and said that it was a privilege to bowl on the day.
“That was more luck than skill (on Faf's dismissal), the wicket changed the momentum in favour of us and we went ahead. Things like that happen, we have an incredible new-ball attack and it's a privilege to be bowling behind them. I saw the edge of the bat and stuck my hands on it (on the catch),” Neesham was quoted as saying after the match.
“We were disappointed in ourselves last night, probably playing far too aggressively, but coming back after just a 12-hour turnaround was an advantage for us. Like I said, a lot of things fell into place for us today,” said the Black Caps allrounder further.
“The brand we play, we do tend to lose wickets, but if they do get in, they can go big and score quickly as well. To see such a big crowd on a Wednesday night is nice to see, hopefully, they'll keep supporting us,” Wayne Parnell, the skipper of the Capitals was quoted as saying at the post-match presentation.
