James Andreson is by aging like fine wine and continuing to cause trouble even at the age of 40 against the best of batters. He bowled a jaffa to get Mohammad Rizwan out in the ongoing series against Pakistan, one which will be talked about for a long time.
Anderson debuted in 2002, under the captaincy of Naseer Hussain. Hussain was captain when Anderson had made his debut against Zimbabwe in Test cricket in the following year. He has got 675 wickets across formats and is the third-highest wicket taker. Recently, he had the Sky Sports commentary team in splits when he compared Hussain’s captaincy to Ben Stokes.
He said that he could carry for a long length of time under Stokes captaincy, and he joked to Hussain that he was not sure that he would last long with Hussain as captain.
"He's been fantastic," Anderson said when asked by Hussain about Stokes's leadership.
"He's someone who has got so much positivity every day when you turn up, whether it's during the game or before the game.
"We came to practice yesterday, day before a Test match, and he wants us to do a six hitting competition. I actually got one across the ropes which is incredible!
"He wants us to have fun, he wants us to enjoy the time we are having together playing this exciting brand of cricket. The attacking mindset he's got in the field the whole time, for me who's been around for 20 years, is making me think differently about the game. "I am finding it really exciting. It's worked out brilliantly and I'm really enjoying it. I think if I still had the same captain I had back then I'm not sure I'd still be going!
