WATCH: Jair McAllister's magic delivery to Azam Khan in washed-out CPL 2023 game

West Indies uncapped player Jair McAllister made a stunning debut in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as he dismissed Pakistani batter, Azam Khan. Jair was named in the recently concluded West Indies and India Test series but didn’t play in any of the two matches. However, in the 4th match of CPL 2023, Guyana Amazon Warriors posted 56/2 in five overs against St Lucia Kings, but the match was called off in the second innings due to rain. 

At the start of the play, the rain had already abandoned one of the double-header clashes between Trinbago Knight Riders and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. In the third game of CPL 2023, Evin Lewis-led Patriots won the toss and opted to field first. The Riders' innings were halted at 19/1 in three overs when rain struck down, and the game was called off after a five overs per side match was scheduled.

Whereas in the second game of the Day on August 19, Faf du Plessis-led side won the toss and asked Guyana to bat first in a five overs game scheduled after rain affected the start of the play. The Imran Tahir-led side has two Pakistani youngsters, Azam Khan and Saim Ayub, in their lineup for this cash-rich West Indies league. While the highest-paid Pakistani cricketer in the league is Azam, he has struck a lucrative deal worth $120,000.

A look at the CPL 2023 points table  

Speaking of the points table of the 11th season of the CPL, ST. Lucia is at the top with one win and one loss in the three games they have played this season till now. They are followed by the defending champion Jamaica Tallawahs with one win in the only game they have played. At the same time, the Guyana-based side with no result is on the third spot. It is pertinent to mention that the Barbados Royals are at the bottom of the roster with one loss in the only game they have played so far in the league.
