India faced South Africa in the third T20I on October 4, Tuesday, and lost it by 49 runs. Despite their loss, the Indian team looked positive as they had already sealed the series by winning the first two matches. Post the conclusion of the match, in an interview with the former cricketer Murali Karthik, Rohit Sharma said that he was concerned with Suryakumar Yadav’s form and burst into laughter.
For the unversed, Suryakumar won the Player of the Series award after scoring 119 runs in three matches at an average of 59.50 and with a strike rate of around 190. Rohit’s sarcastic comment made Karthik burst into laughter as well as the duo felt it difficult to carry on with the interview.
“Of course, speaking about areas of concern, there are a lot of areas we need to look at. To start with, Surya’s form is a big concern (smiles),” Rohit said in the post-match interview.

We need to look at lot of things: Rohit
Commenting on the areas of concern that India needs to address, the Indian skipper admitted that Men in Blue lagged behind in death bowling and assured the fans of addressing it prior to the start of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
“As a team we said at the beginning, no matter what happens with the result - there's always room for improvement. We want to keep getting better as a team. Teams have been quite challenging, they can challenge in all departments. Something we have been talking about at length. We need to look at lot of things,” said the Indian skipper.
"We are working towards that, guys need a lot of clarity, it's my job to make sure it happens. It's a work in progress, we need to keep working and keep finding answers to it,” he said further.
Rohit highlighted that most of the players from the Indian squad have not been to Australia and cited it to be one of the reasons behind reaching Australia early. Further, he said that the team needs to understand the combination that they have to play with.
