Indian wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Ravi Dahiya, Pooja Sihag and Pooja Gehlot arrived in India with a roaring welcome after the Commonwealth Games 2022. They were welcomed with garlands and dhols as they made their way into the Delhi Airport on Tuesday. Malik managed to bag gold for India at the Games 2022.

The crowd stood up and lauded the athletes as they returned. Cheers, whistles and applause echoed in and around the airport. Amid a roaring welcome, the airport staff congratulated the athletes for their tremendous feat at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games.

Pooja Sihag, the bronze medallist, thanked her coach for backing her upright throughout the multi-sport event. “It feels great to come back home with a medal. I want to give the credit to my coach,” Sihag said after her return.

Pooja Gehlot thanked the people of India and said that she hopes to win more medals in the future. She added that she’ll give the credit to all the Indians out there for her medal. “Winning a medal for the country is the feeling. I give credit to every Indian,” Gehlot said.

The gold medallist Sakshi Malik expressed her gratitude to the Indian people. She added that she wanted to thank the people for all their love and support. “It is a great feeling and I am very happy as this is my first big medal after the Olympics. I would like to give credit to India who gave me all the support and love. I feel very proud,” Malik said.

India concluded the Commonwealth campaign in a golden way as the Indian contingent managed to win six medals on the final day. Indian badminton stars PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen managed to win a gold medal for India. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also bagged gold in men’s pairs.

Sathiyan Gnanasekaran bagged bronze in the table tennis event, Achanta Sharath Kamal won gold while the Indian men’s hockey team won silver for India on the last day of the multi-sport event.
