The much-awaited day has finally arrived as the arch-rivals India and Pakistan go head to head in the 2022 edition of the Asia Cup at Dubai International Stadium. Initially scheduled in Sri Lanka, the Asia Cup had to be moved out of the island nation due to the prevailing political unrest and was later moved to the United Arab Emirates.
The Indian veteran Virat Kohli will take the MRF Wizard bat after nearly a month and the expectations are quite high from the Indian team as they look to give Pakistan a taste of their own medicine from the previous year's twenty-over World Cup defeat.
Ahead of the match, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and other Indian players came forward to wish the Bangalore batter for achieving the historic feat of becoming the second player after Ross Taylor to play 100 matches across all formats. Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya also joined the Indian skipper in wishing the Indian veteran.
"We know that his hunger and passion is unmatchable, every time you see him he come out with different energy all the time and you know it’s definitely not easy to play 100 games for India across formats. So I would firstly congratulate him for that, it’s a massive achievement, every time we see him, his game is at a different level, I hope Asia Cup will be no different, massive player for us without a doubt. I hope you know, he’s at his best for the team’s sake," the Indian skipper added.
The good wishes are pouring in for #KingKohli before his 100th T20I appearance! 😇

To play that amount of cricket itself is a big achievement: Hardik Pandya
Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant pointed out Kohli's dedication and lauded him for the same as they acknowledge the batter's milestone and thanked him for the inspiration that he brings to the team. The Indian wicket-keeper expressed his desire to have a career like Kohli and opined on winning many matches for India as the veteran did.
The star allrounder Hardik Pandya heaped praise on the star for playing a lot of cricket and opined that his records speak for himself. "To play that amount of cricket itself is a big achievement, leave the record it's fine, people will remember this feat for the longest time since I don’t see in the near future this happening very often, people playing two, three formats and you know playing 100 games each," Pandya added.
Ravindra Jadeja praised the batter saying that the star has dedicated himself to cricket and wished him well to play more matches for Team India. "I remember when we were playing Under-19, since then his dedication and hunger for runs is still fresh or in my opinion even more because from Under-19 till now, his goal has been to always work hard to get runs, improve his fitness, game, and more," he said.
