After the stunning bowling performance of pacer Mohammed Siraj, India thrashed Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the Asia Cup 2023 finals. Throwing his dream spell, Siraj took six wickets within the span of seven overs. Meanwhile, he just conceded 21 runs and threw one of the best ODI spells in the history of the game.

However, after winning the tournament, the Indian team management appreciated the groundmen and fans by various means. Firstly, Siraj gave his Player of the Match award and cash prize to Groundmens. After reaching the hotel, team management called on superfans Sudhir Kumar and Dipak to share the trophy with them. They were allowed to touch the prestigious trophy and take pictures with it.

As soon as these videos went viral on social media, fans appreciated the team's management. Fans were delighted to witness how the Indian team respects their fans and their efforts. It's worth noting that earlier, the Asian Cricket Council also announced a cash prize of INR 42 lakh for the groundmen. They were appreciated by the association during the post-match presentation ceremony.

India is set to face Australia in the ODI series

After crossing the Asian continent, the Indian team came back to Mumbai by a late-night flight from Colombo. It's worth noting that team management has given a four-day off to all players as they will gather on September 20 for the upcoming ODI series against Australia. India will face Pat Cummins-led Australia in a three-match ODI series before the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the World Cup will also start with defending champion England facing New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5. India will start their campaign against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8. However, before the prestigious tournament, India will play five ODI matches against Australia, the Netherlands, and England.
