Ahmedabad-based franchise Gujarat Titans (GT) are playing just in their second edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but they have already established themselves among the league's giants. The Hardik Pandya-led side won the coveted IPL title in their inaugural season last year and look to be on track to win their second title this season as they are on a roll, becoming the first team to qualify for the playoffs.

Having said that, behind GT's strong campaign, there is a major hand from their head coach Ashish Nehra, who is often seen giving tips and instructions from the dugout to their skipper and players fielding near the boundary line. The former Indian pacer is known to be a calm person and looks relaxed whenever his team is in the middle, but that was not the case in GT's last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday, May 15.

Nehra expressed disappointment at GT's batting collapse

The defending champions won the game by 34 runs at home, thanks to Shubman Gill's maiden IPL century and outstanding bowling efforts from Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma. However, when the entire Ahmedabad crowd and GT dugout stood and applauded the 23-year-old after his 56-ball hundred, Nehra was seen sitting with a disappointed face.

The reason for his gesture was very clear as GT faced a batting collapse from 147/1 at one point after 14 overs. After being invited to bat first, the home team lost an early wicket of Wriddhiman Saha, but Gill and Sai Sudarshan put up a stunning partnership for the second wicket. However, they looked set to score 200-220 with ease and could only add 41 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the last six overs, frustrating their head coach.

The only positive thing that happened in the dying overs was GT's first ton in the cash-rich league, which came in the 19th over. Nehra was not happy with his batter's performance and in a video that is going viral, the 44-year-old can be seen sitting during Gill's milestone and also having an animated conversation with Hardik.
