Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir appeared to be acting out of rage when he was photographed giving the middle finger to supporters who were yelling Virat Kohli's name throughout the team's Asia Cup match against Nepal.Ā

Inside the Pallekele International Stadium, where the Men in Blue are playing Nepal during the Asia Cup 2023 Group B match, former India player Gautam Gambhir engaged in horrible behaviour towards the spectators.

When Virat Kohli's name was being chanted by supporters, Gambhir was seen on camera giving them the middle finger. When the "Kohli, Kohli" shouts were heard, Gambhir was seen on the phone. The BJP MP turned and pointed his middle finger in their direction.Ā

Gambhir is currently in Sri Lanka working with the host broadcasters' commentary crew. Since their altercation during the Indian Premier League some years ago, he has been an outspoken opponent of Kohli and hasn't shared the same views as the former India captain.

It certainly wasn't the first time that Gautam Gambhir has been the target of Virat Kohli supporters in the stadium. Over the previous ten years, the two top cricketers have engaged in a few physical altercations on the cricket pitch.

In May, during an IPL game between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as well as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), they also got into a fight. Since then, whenever an occasion has come, Gambhir has been the target for Virat Kohli supporters. Over the last two months, they have been screaming Kohli's name towards Gambhir whenever they saw him roaming inside the cricket stadiums, both during IPL along with India matches.

With his contentious gesture at Pallekele, Gambhir appeared to still harbour animosity against Kohli. While everything is going on, Kohli is playing Nepal, who have been bowled out for a good total of 230 runs against a potent Indian bowling attack. Virat Kohli would look to forget his dismal performance against Nepal and perform better while chasing a tricky total against a new opposition.
