Erling Haaland broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute to score Manchester City's opening goal against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in the English Premier League (EPL) on Sunday, August 27. However, it wasn't his teammates who first applauded the star striker, but a pitch-invader. Haaland's stunning goal provided the much-needed breakthrough for the treble champions, who went on to record a thrilling 2-1 win.
The first half ended with neither team finding a goal. But in the 36th minute of the game, Haaland had a great chance to put his team ahead if he hadn't missed a penalty. City were awarded a spot kick following a handball, but it turned out to be Haaland's first penalty miss in the Premier League. He had converted all of his previous eight spot kicks for City.
However, the Norwegian did not disappoint his fans for long, as he found the back of the net in the second half of the game to give City the lead. He got off the mark with a close-range header following a cross from winger Jack Grealish in the 63rd minute. As he ran off to celebrate, a hardcore City and Haaland fan stormed onto the pitch and jumped on Haaland's back to join their celebrations. The overjoyed fan could not hold back his excitement and was seen embracing Haaland tightly and kissing his neck.

Man City registered their third win of the new season
Haaland was taken aback when the fan jumped on him, but once he caught a glimpse of the supporter in a black shirt, the forward was all smiles. Interestingly, the fan who invaded the pitch at Bramall Lane is a former world-champion boxer, Terry Flanagan. The British boxer remained the WBO lightweight title holder between 2015 and 2017. The video soon went viral on social media with fans discussing Flanagan's incredible celebration.
Meanwhile, the former boxing champion, who was escorted by the security, is likely to receive a hefty fine and attendance ban for invading the pitch. Speaking of the match, Jayden Bogle levelled the scoreline in the 85th minute and provided a late scare for City. However, Spanish midfielder Rodri netted the winning goal three minutes later to help City register their third victory in the new season.
