India's Asia Cup 2022 campaign begins on the 27th of August against longstanding rivals Pakistan. The two Asian nations will be meeting after they last met in the T20 World Cup 2021. The arch-rivals clashed against each other in the 2021 20-20 World Cup which also took place in the UAE.

In that game, Shaheen Afridi ran riot over the Indian top order consisting of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli. The left-arm pacer caused huge problems to the Indian batting troika and India managed to score only a paltry 151 in their 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Pakistan overhauled the target quite easily by the 18th over. Pakistan picked up a massive 10-wicket win against arch-rivals India.

Shaheen Afridi managed to pick up 3 for 31 in that marquee clash, which proved to be the point of difference in the end. India has had problems with left-arm pace, they are not able to score freely against them in recent times and have had problems while negotiating them.

It remains to be seen whether this problem will haunt India here as well and the team will be breathing easily because Shaheen Afridi will not be part of this edition of the Asia Cup.

A video has surfaced on Twitter where Afridi can be seen mimicking the Indian batters. In the video, it appears that Shaheen Afridi is playing a meek forward defensive shot. It can be understood that he took this jibe at the Indian batters who fared poorly against him in the last India-Pak encounter. He also might have done this because he was very keen to play against the Men in Blue in the Asia Cup 2022.

Shaheen is seen playing a forward defence where he has edged the ball to the keeper, it can be inferred that the batters he is referring to in the video are the Indian top order. Shaheen though will not take part in the Asia Cup as he is ruled out with a right knee ligament injury. The Indian batters will breathe a sigh of relief because of this.
