No wonder Virat Kohli gets a warm welcome from the crowd whenever he walks onto the ground. But this time it will be special for the Indian stalwart as he received a standing ovation at his home ground in Delhi when he came out to bat in the first innings of the second Test against Australia. However, the surprising fact is that Kohli has played only three Test matches in his career at the ground where he grew up playing cricket.
Fans holding banners and chanting for Kohli at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, formerly known as Feroz Shah Kotla, began recording the moment their favourite superstar walked into the middle. The spine of the Indian batting line-up came to the crease following the dismissal of Rohit Sharma when the team score was 53-2. This was Kohli's first Test appearance at the Arun Jaitley Stadium since 2017.

Ahead of the Delhi Test, Kohli created a stir on social media by sharing an emotional post on his Instagram handle. The former Indian captain posted a story about driving to the Arun Jaitley Stadium, saying, "A long drive towards the stadium in Delhi after ages. Such a nostalgic feeling."
Meanwhile, India did not have a great start on the Day 2 of the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, as the hosts lost early wickets of KL Rahul (17), Rohit Sharma (32), Cheteshwar Pujara (0) and Shreyas Iyer (4). It was a perfect reply to the Indian batters from Nathan Lyon, as the Australian spinner took all four wickets in the first session of the day. With the second session started, Kohli was dismissed after scoring 44.
Earlier, India wrapped the Aussies' first innings at 263, with Mohammed Shami picking four wickets, and Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three each. Usman Khawaja was the top-scorer for the visitors with 81 runs, while Peter Handscomb remained unbeaten on 72. India, meanwhile, leads the BGT series 1-0, after registering a dominant innings-and -132-run victory in Nagpur.
