Australia and West Indies faced off each other in the first Test match which saw a brilliant batting display from both sides. The West Indies fought hard through the course of the five days, but the Kangaroos were too good for them. Marnus Labuschagne scored an outstanding 204 off 350 balls in the first innings and then smashed a 104 off 110 balls in the second innings. Kraigg Brathwaite also scored a superb 110 off 188 balls in the second innings.

A strange incident happened on Day 4 which gave a sigh of relief to the West Indies players but left the Australian players disappointed. In the 41st over, Josh Hazelwood bowled an unplayable delivery to Brathwaite, who was batting on 67. The skipper of the West Indies missed the ball as it flew to the wicketkeeper after touching the bails. However, the bails were not dislodged which meant Brathwaite remained unbeaten.

Here is the video:

Nathan Lyon picked up six wickets in the fourth innings

Hazelwood was not a happy man after what transpired and looked visibly disappointed after he realized he couldn't get a wicket off that ball. Nevertheless, Australia ended up winning the Test match by 164 runs as they bundled out West Indies on day 5.

Nathan Lyon ran through the batting lineup and spun a web in the fourth innings by picking up 6-128. Travis Head also complemented Lyon and picked up 2-25 in his eight over spell. Australia captain, Pat Cummins did not bowl on day 5 after he was down with a sore thigh. Australia showed that they are a force to reckoned with at home and it is tough to beat them.

Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul were the bright spots for the Men in Maroon, but they need to play as a unit and not rely on one individual. The Test is scheduled to be played from 8th to 12th December at Adelaide Oval ground.
