The excitement and anticipation for the upcoming ODI World Cup are growing by the day, and the official promo for the showpiece event has now been released, giving all cricket fans goosebumps. On Thursday, July 20, the Cricket Governing Body dropped a two-minute and 13-second trailer for the 2023 World Cup featuring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and several other notable personalities from the cricketing world.

The governing body launched the 'It Takes One Day' campaign in Mumbai in association with the Indian Cricket Board - the tournament host. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the promotional video also features JP Duminy, Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan, Muttiah Muralitharan, Jonty Rhodes and Jemimah Rodrigues. Notably, SRK has also given the voice-over.

The captivating video, which shows historical moments from each edition of the ODI World Cup since 1975, sends a strong message to all the fans across the globe, “All it takes is just one day.”

Speaking after the release of the official promotional video, the CEO of the global cricket governing body Geoff Allardice said the campaign is a true celebration of ODI cricket. Commenting about Shah Rukh Khan's involvement, Allardice said that cricket and cinema are beloved by Indians and the collaboration of the two will attract worldwide attention.

"This campaign is a true celebration of one-day international cricket and builds a sense of anticipation of what we can expect when the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 returns to India. The emotions, or Navarasa, are felt by fans and players alike during One Day and this campaign brings to life that shared experience," said Allardice.

“Cricket and cinema are at the heart of the Indian psyche, and we’ve infused the two to create appeal far and wide. The involvement of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan together with an exceptional line-up of cricketers will only help us deepen our connection in this country while captivating the attention worldwide,” he added.

The 50-over World Cup will kick off with England and New Zealand clashing at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 5. Meanwhile, India begin their campaign against Australia on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
