In the 10th game of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKN) locked horns with Barbados Royals (BR) on Sunday, August 26 at Warner Park, in Basseterre, St Kitts. The Royals won the match by six wickets and Qais Ahmad was awarded the Player of the Match for his marvellous bowling performance.

If we talk about the match, the BR skipper, Rovman Powell won the toss and elected to bowl first. The SKN side while batting first was 147/6 after 18 overs. Sixteen runs came in the 19th over which was bowled by Obed McCoy. In the last over, the Patriots batters, Corbin Bosch and Dominic Drakes smashed 34 runs off the 20th over which was bowled by Nyeem Young.

The SKN team scored 197 runs with the loss of six wickets after the completion of the first innings. The highest scorer for the side was Andre Fletcher who scored 51 runs off 38 balls with five fours and three sixes in his innings. Bosch played an unbeaten knock of 38 runs from 12 balls, which included four fours and three sixes in his innings whereas Drakes scored unbeaten 20 runs from 14 balls with one four and one six in his innings.

The Royals chased down the target on the third ball of the 18th over. Powell was the highest scorer of the side as he played an unbeaten knock of 67 runs from 29 balls which included five fours and five sixes in his innings. Rakheem Cornwall scored a quickfire knock of 38 runs from 15 balls with three fours and four sixes in his innings.

"I'm very happy for the match and this performance. The coach told me the wicket is good for me, and that I would do well. The conditions were good for batting, but I bowled line to line and took wickets. Very happy and excited to win," Pakistan's Qais Ahmad was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation.
