A charismatic leader, a lethal finisher and a wily wicketkeeper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is truly a legend in the game of cricket. With his batting prowess, and taking Team India and Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to great heights, the 41-year-old has earned a place in the hearts of cricket fans all over the world. MS Dhoni is currently leading CSK in IPL 2023 and is all set to play his 10th IPL final on May 28.

The right-handed batter has been receiving immense support and love from his fans throughout this season as rumours swirled that this would be his last dance as a player. Supporters from all across the country have been heading to the venues where their beloved 'Thala' and troop play. Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is also an admirer of the four-time IPL-winning captain among his crores of fans.

During Qualifier 1, played between CSK and Gujarat Titans (GT), Kaushal was part of JioCinema's commentary panel along with former Indian cricketers Zaheer Khan and Akash Chopra. When asked which team he supports, the 35-year-old responded he cheers for CSK and also expressed his admiration for the 2011 World Cup-winning skipper.

“Today, I’m supporting Chennai Super Kings as I’m an MSD loyalist, and he is my favourite. Also, since there are rumours in the air that it is his last IPL, my heart wants him to lift the trophy this year," Kaushal said.

CSK booked their ticket to Ahmedabad after crushing GT

Talking about the tournament, Dhoni and Co qualified for the IPL 2023 final by defeating the defending champions by 15 runs at the Chepauk Stadium. CSK will face the Qualifier 2 winner in the grand finale at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Speaking at the post-match presentation of the CSK vs GT match, Dhoni lauded his team’s performance throughout the season and said that everybody’s hard work over two months has paid off well. "IPL is too big to say it’s just another final. Used to be 8 top teams, now it’s 10. I won’t say it’s just another final. It’s hard work of 2 months. Everybody has contributed."

“I can be a very annoying captain, I keep shifting fielders 2-3 feet. Only request I ask from the fielders is, keep an eye on me. If there’s a dropped catch there will be no reaction (from me), just keep an eye on me,” he added.
