The SA20, the league based in South Africa, is turning out to be an exciting one and the fans are finding it to be thrilling although it is just the inaugural edition. On January 19, Thursday, Paarl Royals faced off against Sunrisers Eastern Cape and it was the latter who came out on top chasing a target of 127 with 5 wickets to spare.
However, the victory did not come easy for the Eastern Cape as they lost 3 wickets within 5 balls during the 13th over off Bjorn Fortuin. While the Royals’ fans hoped for a breakthrough, the Sunrisers managed to come out on top at the end of the chase, eventually taking home the two points. For a moment, the Sunrisers camp were left clueless as Fortuin kept rattling the middle order removing the well-set batter Jordan Hermann, Aiden Markram and Jordan Cox.
To add more, while Hermann made his way back to the dressing room for a well-made 43, Markan and Cox perished after gathering 23 and 0 respectively. The worst case was the wicket of Cox as the batter perished for a golden duck notwithstanding Fortuin’s spin wrath.

It wasn't as convincing a win: Aiden Markram
Post the conclusion of the win, the skipper of the Sunrisers franchise and star Proteas batter Markram said that he was not delighted with the win, given that they had to put in too much effort. Further, the right-handed batter claimed that the batters must be wary of their mistakes and not repeat them in future games.
“It wasn't as convincing a win, but it makes for good watching at the end of the day. Happy to get the win anyway. You need to give yourself some time on such wickets. We'll take some learning from this and not repeat the mistakes. The bowlers are showing a lot of character, it's good to see that,” Markram was quoted as saying at the post-match presentation.
“Hopefully they'll continue. Just looking to squeeze a few overs here and there, hopefully it'll go alright. You want such tough situations so it's nice to have those guys in the team (Jansen and Stubbs), it was nice they got us over the line tonight,” said the South African batter further.
