Ahead of the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam attended a press conference in Melbourne. During the presser, an awkward moment took place when a journalist asked Babar Azam a question related to the Indian T20 League.
The Pakistan skipper was questioned whether Pakistani players were thinking about joining the league in the future in an effort to advance their sport. It left Babar Azam uncomfortable and, as a result, the media manager Ibrahim Badees had to intervene.
Badees had to clarify that the Pakistan skipper is only taking questions pertaining to the ongoing World Cup.

It is worth mentioning that the Pakistan cricketers aren’t allowed to participate in the Indian T20 League. Numerous cricketers from the country participated in the inaugural edition in 2008. However, political tensions and turbulence grew manifold between the two nations, thereafter, and the players from the Pakistan were banned to participate in the cash-rich league.
Notably, both the countries haven’t participated in any bilateral series, since. The arch-rivals only take on each other in the multi-nation tournaments conducted by the Governing Body of Cricket.
Both Pakistan and England have won the 20-20 World Cup title once in the history of the tournament. Pakistan won the title in 2009 and England lifted the trophy one year later. Despite losing their first two matches against India and Zimbabwe, Pakistan managed to qualify for the knockouts in the ongoing tournament.
The Men in Green then registered a convincing 7-wicket win over New Zealand in the semi-final to book their place for the final. England, on the other hand, are coming into the encounter on the back of a morale-boosting 10-wicket win over India in the second semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
The final will take place on Sunday at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
