Pakistan succumbed to yet another Test defeat in the second encounter which was held at Multan. They lost to England by 26 runs. This meant that England now had an unassailable 2-0 series lead. Pakistan were no match for England’s Bazball approach which helped them get a result in 4 days.

After the second Test finished, Babar Azam went to the press conference where he was baffled by a reporter’s question which indicated to Babar that he and Mohammad Rizwan should not play in Tests and instead give their full attention to T20s. Babar gave an appropriate reply to the media person in a crisp fashion. This is what transpired.

Reporter: “Babar yeh fans k taraf se ek sawal hai, unka kehna tha Babar aur Rizwan jo hain, unko apna focus T20 pe karna chahiye, kyuki jaise woh out hote hain puri team down ho jati hain (This question is from the fans, who feel that Babar and Rizwan should focus in T20s. As they get out the rest of the team crumbles.)”

Babar interrupts: “Toh aap keh rahe hain Test chhor de? (So you are saying, we should stop playing Test?)”

Reporter: “Aap kya soch rahe hain is baare mein, T20 mein jaana chahiye (What are your thoughts on it, should you play T20?)”

Babar: “Sir, aisa kuch nahi soch rahe hum (Sir I'm not thinking anything like that.)”

Here is the video-

Babar has been in some form in the tests, but he has been inconsistent, after scoring a fine 75 in the first innings, he was dismissed for just 1 run off 10 balls in the second innings. For Rizwan though, the returns from the second test were very poor as he scored 10 off 43 balls in the first innings and 30 off 38 balls with three fours and 1 six in the second innings.

England have won a historic Test series in Pakistan after 17 years. They had also won a closely fought seven-match T20 series 4-3 in Pakistan recently under Moeen Ali's captaincy. England will be looking to rout Pakistan 3-0 in the third Test at Karachi which will be held on 22nd December.
