The match between the Netherlands and South Africa proved to be a huge boost for Pakistan in the 20-20 World Cup in 2022. The Dutch team defeated South Africa by 13 runs, knocking them out of the race to the semi-finals. This opened the way for Pakistan and Bangladesh to advance to the next stage. The winner of the game between the two would qualify for the semi-finals.

The Netherlands vs South Africa game and Bangladesh vs Pakistan encounter were played at the same venue, Adelaide Oval. The captains of both teams shared a hilarious moment when they crossed paths on the field. Babar Azam gave Scott Edwards a thumbs up, while the latter shouted, "Make sure you win, then we finish fourth". The video of the two has gone viral over the internet.

Former Pakistan Pacer Shoaib Akhtar posted the video on his official Twitter handle. "What a beautiful moment between the captains of Netherlands & Pakistan. They got us into the semifinals. We ensured their entry into next T20 World Cup," he wrote in the caption.

As it turned out, Pakistan won the match against Bangladesh and advanced to the semi-finals. They defeated Bangladesh by five wickets to knock them out of the tournament. With this win, the Netherlands finished fourth in Group 2 and qualified for the next edition of the 20-20 World Cup.

In the meantime, Captain Scott Edwards was overjoyed after their historic 13-run win. The emotional captain was at a loss for words when asked to describe his feelings after the game. He stated that it would take some time for the victory to sink in.

”I am lost for words. Went so fast. This is going to take a bit of time to take it all in. We are used to these conditions in Netherlands. We were confident around the 160 mark to defend this,” he said at the post-match presentation.
