Arshdeep Singh has been India’s best left-armer, of late, and reasonably so. He has given some outstanding performances in the recent past for India and in the Indian T20 League. The pacer made his debut against England, earlier, in July and since then, he has been a constant part of the Indian setup.
The Indian team were constantly looking for a left-arm pacer in the squad and Arshdeep Singh has fit in pretty well. The 23-year-old has proved his worth in the Indian T20 League and in international matches as well. In a video released by Star Sports, his parents can be seen talking about the youngster’s selection for the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
“It is a very proud moment for us. It is a very big opportunity to get selected for the T20 World Cup squad,” his father, Darshan Singh said.
“Previously he has won in the U-19 stages and now with the help of the almighty, we hope he performs well, brings us joy, and wins the trophy,” his mother said in the video.

Arshdeep Singh’s Road to the 20-20 World Cup 2022
The 23-year-old made his debut against the Three Lions in July 2022. The pacer impressed everyone on the very first ball of his and since then, fans backed the player to go big. The youngster has carried the momentum from there on and played well for India in the shortest format of the game.
The Punjab-born was then selected for the Asia Cup 2022 on the back of his stupendous performances. Albeit he went for runs at times, the left-armer almost defended 7 runs in the Super 4 round against Pakistan. He almost defended the same amount of runs against Sri Lanka as well.
The pacer has donned the blue jersey in 11 international T20 matches so far and has bagged 14 wickets. Being a player with supreme ability to deliver in the end overs, he might become India’s new death-over specialist over time.
Arshdeep Singh has come a long way since his debut and will look to do well yet again. This will be a great opportunity for the youngster and he'll look to bring trophy home.
