Anrich Nortje is known for bowling at discomforting pace. In the ongoing SA20 2023, the Pretoria Capitals player has bowled the fastest delivery of the tournament as of now. In the third game of the tournament between the Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Nortje bowled a thunderbolt at 151 kmph. It happened during the 11th over of the Sunrisers' innings.

The right-arm pacer ran in and bowled to Tristan Stubbs, the tournament's most expensive player. The latter had no answer to the disturbingly pacy delivery from the South Africa international and lost his wicket. The White Kookaburra ball went through the defense of Stubbs and crashed into the off-stump. England international, Phil Salt, who was keeping the wickets, dove to his right and caught the ball.

Talking about the game, the home side, Eastern won the toss and elected to bowl first. Their decision was proving partially right as they took five wickets for 80 runs. However, they conceded the said runs in just 9.3 overs. On the other hand, thanks to Salt's 77 off 47 and finishing touches from Jimmy Neesham and skipper Wayne Parnell took Pretoria to a competitive 193/6.

For the Sunrisers, Ottniel Baartman and Aiden Markram took two wickets each. Notably, the former gave away 45 runs in just three overs. Apart from them, Marco Jansen and Sisanda Magala took one each and were costly with the ball. , In reply, the Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers had a poor start as they lost four wickets for just 68 runs in 10.2 overs. Stubbs, who got out to a thunderbolt from Nortje scored 23 off 11 balls.

JJ Smuts scored 66 off 51 balls but that didn't help the team's cause much with the required run rate ever increasing. The likes of Tom Abell and James Fuller forced the issue but failed to win the game for the side. They lost by 23 runs but managed to avoid conceding a bonus point to the visitors, the Capitals.
