The International League T20 is giving fans a visual treat and one has to agree that players from all over the world are enjoying the run in the inaugural edition of the tournament. On January 18, Wednesday, Desert Vipers and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders squared off against each other in Match 7 of the tournament. 

To add more, it was the Vipers who won the game chasing a target of 134 by 7 wickets on the back of Alex Hales’ 64 and one has to agree that the English batter was at his very best. Sam Billings, his teammate, provided the much-needed finish to get the team past the target with his unbeaten 35. 

Hales’ six in the first ball of the second over proved to be one of the shots of the game and fans, who shared the video on the internet, claimed that it might well be the shot of the tournament, given the commentators were in awe of the shot. It remains to be seen if Hales would be able to carry on with the form, given that his innings against the Knight Riders proved to be vital.

If we hold on to them, we can be even better: Colin Munro

Colin Munro, the New Zealand batter and the skipper of the Vipers camp, said that it was a great win and hoped that Hales would be able to carry on with the form for the rest of the tournament. Further, Munro took cognizance of their lethargy while fielding and said that the team will look to improve on it. 

“The wicket was a lot slower than we thought it would be. To have an addition like Hasaranga is brilliant. He got 3/18 which won us the game. Fielding is something we can still work on, we dropped a couple of catches today. If we hold on to them, we can be even better. Alex Hales is one of the best in T20 cricket, he is very mature. Hope he can continue this form for the rest of the tournament,” Munro was quoted as saying after the match.
