Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull has been inviting cyber attacks from Pakistan fans for his continuous criticism and comments during commentary of the ongoing Pakistan Super League. Doull, recently, triggered a social media storm after he criticized Pakistan skipper Babar Azam on-air for putting his personal milestones ahead of the team's goal.
He is now in the midst of controversy again after he made a comment about another Pakistani cricketer Hasan Ali's wife during the PSL match between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans.
Islamabad recorded a cracker of a 2-wicket win over Multan in a thrilling contest in Rawalpindi on Tuesday night. Doull was on commentary as the winning side's dugout celebrated the resounding victory after Faheem Ashraf won the game from the clutches of defeat.
Initially, the camera was focused on Mohammad Wasim Jr - dismissed leg-before after missing a low full-toss, and Doull said on commentary,
"Wasim knows he missed a dirty fulltoss, he could have won it".
Soon the camera shifted to Hasan Ali's wife and the former right-arm medium pacer said,
“She has won it. She has won a few hearts as well I believe. That is superb, absolutely stunning. And the victory.”

A video clip of his commentary is going viral on social media, but it did not go down well with Pakistani fans as the former international cricketer was slammed for his indecent comment.
Earlier, his criticism of Babar Azam's slow innings during the Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators clash had invited a huge backlash from the fans. The Zalmi opener scored 115 runs in a high scoring match where Gladiators chased down a massive target of 241 runs in just 18.2 overs after Jason Roy's blistering innings.
Babar scored 83 runs off 46 balls and then took another 14 deliveries to reach his century. This did not please Doull, who was in the commentary box, and prompted him to criticize the Zalmi captain for prioritizing individual milestones.
"Rather than putting the team first... the last little while, that's all that been happening. Rather than looking for boundaries, still so much firepower to come. Hundreds are brilliant, stats are great, but it has to be team first," he said during the match.

Doull had to face many attacks for his remarks about Babar. A Pakistani cricket fan threatened him, his mother and sister, saying that Doull should leave Pakistan immediately and insulting Babar would not be tolerated.
