Ab de Villiers will forever remain one of the most destructive batters in World Cricket and in the history of South African cricket. He had wonderful timing whenever he was playing his shots and his short making enthralled one and all across the world. He rightly earned the moniker of being a 360-degree player.

De Villiers had a wonderful sense of game awareness and the ability to read the play of the game beforehand and also sense what the bowler was trying to do. The hallmark of de Villiers was that he was able to target areas of the ground which were less frequently targeted by the other players on the cricket field.

De Villiers had visited Bangalore recently

The southpaw is worshipped akin to a hero in Bangalore and his love for the city is well known. When he was in the city recently one of his fans had sketched de Villiers on his hand which got a lot of comments on the internet. De Villiers had autographed the sketch for the fan which was the ultimate moment for him, and he was over the moon.

De Villiers also met the management of the Bangalore franchise recently to discuss strategies and tactics for the upcoming Indian T20 League auction and he will likely be seen in the Bangalore ranks in the role of a mentor for the Bangalore side.

He also met the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar on his visit to India and interviewed the legend. The two had a wonderful conversation in Mumbai. He also played a game of cricket in Mumbai. If he is made the mentor of the Bangalore team, then the fans will have another chance to see their idol on the big screen and his long association with the franchise will continue.

He had also played his 100th Test in Bangalore in 2015 where he was given a rousing welcome in front of the loyal Bangalore fans who had flocked in huge numbers to see their hero. Virat Kohli who led India in Test matches at that point shared a lighthearted moment with him on the day of the 100th test.
