Wasim Jaffer is known for his wit on social media and his memes. The former India batter often keeps fans entertained with his witty tweets and cheeky memes. The wit got the best out of him once again as he came up with a cheeky tweet to troll Ruturaj Gaikwad. In his meme tweet, two riders are seen riding a bicycle and they are named Ruturaj and Ishan. A walker who walks behind them is named Gill.

In the next frame, the meme reveals that the walker takes the bicycle instead and the two are left alone on the road. His tweet coincides with what you think. Shubman Gill played ahead of Ishan Kishan and Gaikwad in the ODI series when the two were the contenders.

Gill made a strong comeback in the ODI format as he looked extremely comfortable in the opening slot against West Indies. The batter amassed 205 runs in three innings at an average of 102.50. He ended the series with a high score of 98* against West Indies. Gill made the best use of the opportunity and was adjourned “the player of the series”.

This is the first instance of Gill receiving the player of the series award. While Kishan and Ruturaj were benched, Gill made a strong comment with his bat. Classy cover drives, good rotation of strikes all around and run-a-ball strike rate most of the time credited him with a lot of appreciation.

With his strong comeback, Gill took the headlines once again. The batter is now very close to cementing a place in the 2023 World Cup squad.

Gill’s innings fetched him a lot of appreciation from fans too. Commenting about his strike rate, the fans were divided. But overall, the batter did maintain a good strike rate of 102 similar to his average. With the road becoming tough for Ruturaj Gaikwak and Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill has built a commendable reputation. In the positive aspect, it is a good headache for the selectors and the future looks bright for Team India.
