When India crashed out of the 20-20 World Cup after an embarrassing 10-wicket loss to England at the Adelaide Oval, The have had their fair share of criticism India had no answers to a brilliant partnership that took place between Alex Hales and Jos Butter who made sure England chased down the target in just 16 overs.

Virender Sehwag pointed out the reasons that led to India’s loss and pulled up the team for putting up a dismal performance in a crunch game. He talked about the team’s composition and then emphasised the need for a fresh approach going forward for the Indian Team. This is what he said on a show on Cricbuzz, "I won't talk about mindset and all but I would definitely want to see changes in personnel. I don't want to see certain faces in the next World Cup. It happened in the 2007 T20 World Cup also. The stalwarts playing for all these years did not go to that World Cup. A bunch of youngsters went and nobody had any expectations from them and I would want to see a similar sort of team picked for the next T20 World Cup, nobody will expect them to win but that team will be for the future,"

Though Sehwag did not point fingers at any particular individual it can be understood that he is broaching the topic of the senior members calling it adieu to the T20I format and that it is very tough to implement changes quickly due to a change of selection panel that will take guard from December this year.

The selectors have to make the bold calls- Virender Sehwag

"If you start thinking about your future now then only you'll be able to put together a team in two years' time. I would not want to see some non-performing seniors in the next World Cup. I hope the selectors will make such calls. But the problem is will these selectors remain till the next World Cup? There will be a selection panel, new management, new approach so will they make the changes? But one thing is for sure if they go into the next World Cup with the same team and the same approach then the results will also be the same," he added.

India’s next assignment will be a full white ball tour against New Zealand which will comprise Three T20Is and Three ODIs that will take place from November 18 which will be India’s first series after the 20-20 World Cup. The Team will be coached by VVS Laxman as Rahul Dravid has been given a break. The team will be led by Hardik Pandya.
