Virender Sehwag gives intriguing verdict on Suryakumar Yadav in 20-20 World Cup 2022

Suryakumar Yadav has been in splendid form in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 so far, He has scored 225 runs from five games which includes an unbeaten knock of 61 off 25 balls consisting of six fours and four sixes. Social Media went ga-ga over his amazing knock and one among them was Virender Sehwag.

He was all praise for the game changing knock that Suryakumar and he gave a beautiful description of the knock against the Chevrons. This allowed India to reach a wonderful total of 186-5 in their 20 overs. India were also helped with a 35 ball 51 which had three fours and three sixes.

This is what Sehwag had to say on this knock, "Wherever he wants to direct his shot, even if it's not the right ball for that, he will make it reach there", he said." He can guide an off stump wide over the wicketkeeper to fine leg for a six. Such shots are next to impossible. But it's Suryakumar, so it's possible." "If he wants to smack it to the covers, it's Suryakumar, so it's possible. If it needs to be launched over the bowler, it's Suryakumar, so it's possible", he further added.

Zimbabwe were in pursuit of a big total, and they were clearly under pressure as they were bundled out by India for just a 115 in 7.2 overs. The top bowlers for India were Ravichandran Ashwin who picked up 3-22 in his four overs and was supplemented by Hardik Pandya who took 2-16 in his three overs. Mohammad Shami also recorded a good showing as he took 2-14 in his two overs.

India made it to the semi- finals; this is what the 360-degree batter had to say about his knock when he received the player of the match award “I think the plan was very clear when me and Hardik were batting together. He said we should take a positive route and we started hitting the ball and never stopped. I think the atmosphere in the team is really nice and so is the build-up towards the knockout, really looking forward to that game."

"My plan has always been clear, I do the same thing in the nets, I practise the same shots. I bat according to the situation and what the team needs. It feels really good, to be there (number 1 ranked T20I batter). You got to start from zero everytime, that's what I think.
