Virat Kohli has battled the demons of poor form and come good at the 20-20 World Cup in Australia. He has 246 runs to his name. He has continued his form at the showpiece event from the Asia Cup 2022 where he scored 276 runs and had two fifties and one century against Afghanistan. He scored 122 of 61 balls against them and showed everyone that he can't be counted out easily.

India have had the most number of wins in the Super 12 stage emerging victorious in four out of the five games. Now the centre of attention shifts to Adelaide as India will take on England in what will be a fiery semi-final clash. The contest will be of high quality between two heavyweights that will be held on Thursday.

It is wonderful to see Kohli back in form: Kevin Pietersen

Speaking on the same, here is what former England captain Kevin Pietersen had to say on  Kohli’s form in the 20-20 World Cup so far, "I backed Kohli throughout the little loss of form that he had, and he's had a lot to deal with. He is an entertainer, he needs crowds, he needs that buzz, he needs that excitement. He didn't have that for a few years, and he lost his way. But the crowds are in, it's a T20 World Cup in Australia – one of the greatest places to play T20 cricket – and the King is back. As a close friend, I'm very happy for him, but I just need Virat to have a day off," Pietersen wrote in his blog for Betway.

Meanwhile, Pietersen was thrilled to see Kohli back in form and was very happy to see the former India skipper get back to his best, he went on to further elaborate, saying "It's just so good to see the greatest current player back in the runs, not only from India's perspective, but for the world of cricket. For India, he’s such a major component for them to start seeing some consistency. When Virat plays well, the other players start to perform around him. You saw that with Suryakumar Yadav and the innings he played against Zimbabwe; it was just spectacular. When your talisman is back, it helps massively," added the 42-year-old.

Pietersen and Kohli have had a wonderful relationship from their days with the Bangalore Franchise and also, and they have had immense respect for each other as individuals and also Kohli looked up to Pietersen as a role model at the start of his Indian T20 League and international career.
