'Virat Kohli's best is yet to come' - Former Pakistan Captain makes big prediction ahead of BGT 2023

A former Pakistan Captain has compared Virat Kohli with Legend Sri Lanka batter Kumar Sangakkara ahead of BGT 2023.

India is set to lock horns with Australia in a four-match Test series starting from February 9 in Nagpur. Indian team is eyeing to qualify for the finals of the Test Championship, to comfortably book their spot in the finals, which can be achieved if India beat Australia in the series. As there is a lot at stake, India would expect its senior batters to pick up from where they left off in the New Zealand series into the longer format.

Virat Kohli, star India batter, had an outstanding comeback to form at the Asia Cup last year when he finally smashed an international century by hammering an unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan. Since then, Kohli has scored three more tons, he will be looking to continue his strong form in the game's longest format.

Meanwhile, Former Pakistan Captain Salman Butt has compared Kohli with Legend Sri Lanka batter Kumar Sangakkara. He also said that Virat has not unveiled his best yet. Speaking on his YouTube channel Butt said, "Virat Kohli's best is yet to come."

Further speaking about Kohli’s form he said, “He has become fluent but is not back in full flow. He had golden years in which he was unstoppable. When you look at Kumar Sangakkara's career, the way he played toward the end of it was just amazing. He didn't play in the same fashion when he was young.”

Virat Kohli will be looking to regain his rhythm in Test Cricket 

In his last eight ODI matches, Kohli has scored 456 runs at an average of 65.14. He has also smashed three centuries including an unbeaten 166 against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram. However, Kohli has failed to score in Test matches as He had a tough time in the test series against Bangladesh. In the last three years, Kohli has scored 917 runs in 20 matches at an average of 25.

India, who currently holds the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, will be aiming to defend the title against Pat Cummins-led Australia. On February 9, the first Test of the series will start in Nagpur. In total India and Australia have played 27 Test series since 1947-48. Out of 27 Australia have won 12 while India clinched 10 series.
