India and Australia locked horns in the 9th warm-up fixture of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 on Wednesday at The Gabba stadium. After posting a formidable score of 186 runs on the board, India managed to restrict Australia to 180, thereby winning the match by 6 runs.
Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli looked good for his 13-ball 19, including 1 four and 1 six but he couldn’t convert that into a big score. Kohli, however, ensured he contribute massively on the field.
On the 2nd ball of the 19th over, Virat Kohli showed great athleticism as he picked the ball with one hand and hit the stumps from a position where he only had one stump to aim at. But the 33-year-old had no problem hitting the bull’s eye.
Virat Kohli sent the dangerous Tim David back to the hut with an outstanding piece of fielding. You can watch the video of the run-out here:

Tim David’s wicket brought India back into the game. However, with just 11 runs needed off the final over, you expect Australia to win the game on most occasions. But, Virat Kohli, once again, shattered their hopes with an outstanding catch at long-on. He pulled off a one-handed stunner and prevented a six, which helped India win the game eventually. The next three deliveries also resulted in dismissals as India went to win the game by 6 runs.

Earlier, KL Rahul and (57 off 33) and Suryakumar Yadav (50 off 33) scored respective half-centuries to guide the team to a formidable score. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2 for 20), once again, was brilliant in the power play. However, it was Mohammed Shami (3 for 4) who bowled the final over of the innings and returned with 3 wickets and conceded just 4 runs in that over.
Given how he bowled the final over, India would be tempted to play Shami in the first match of the World Cup against Pakistan. He will, definitely, be one of the players to watch out for in the next warm-up game against New Zealand.
