Virat Kohli has always been the epitome of greatness on and off the field. He is known for giving his hundred percent on the field no matter what the situation. Kohli has the ability to win games for the country from the toughest of situations and this has been the hallmark of his cricketing career.

The Pakistani trio of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Malik, recently, acknowledged Kohli for his passion, enthusiasm, and energy and his strong fitness regimen. Wasim Akram said that Kohli is in zen mode and that he took everything that happened to him in his stride. He feels that there was no change in him when he was replaced as captain and he was still doing what was best for the team.

"Instead of making a face, I got dropped as a captain and blah blah blah. I will just stand quietly at short fine leg, but he said no I got dropped as a captain, fine! I will play as a batter and also be the best fielder in the Indian side," Akram said on A Sports.

'Virat Kohli has always been a team man'- Shoaib Malik

While taking Kohli's example, Waqar Younis drew comparisons between India and Pakistan with regards to the game. He said that in Pakistan, a captain fails to cement his place in the side once his time as a leader comes to an end.

"In Pakistan, you go home after you are dropped from captaincy. I don't remember any player (from Pakistan) who has got dropped from captaincy and is making heads turn as a player," he said.

Shoaib Malik also showered high praises on Kohli and said that he treats the shortest format of the game with so much reverence and thinks of playing one ball at a time.

"This is something we've got to learn from Virat Kohli. Here in Pakistan, if you've scored runs, then people roam around with their collars up. There's no harm in doing that but always be a team man whether you have scored runs or not. His quality is that he plays the entire 40 overs with the same intensity. You will always see Kohli trying to help out the team in the field. It doesn't matter whether he has scored a hundred or has been dismissed for a zero," he added.
