Virat Kohli is often considered to be a fitness freak in India. The Indian star often uploads videos of himself toiling hard in the gym. The 33-year-old has set an example for the India cricket team and sometimes, it becomes difficult for others to follow. India dropped a lot of catches in the first T20I against Australia and it also cost the match.

Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper lags behind when it comes to fitness. It is not a well-kept secret as fans do know that the fitness of India’s skipper is a matter of concern. Former Pakistan cricketer, Salman Butt has now highlighted the fitness aspect and said a lot of India players lack behind as far as the fitness is concerned.

On his YouTube channel, Salman Butt said that Indian team management must work on fitness and set Virat Kohli as the prime example of extreme fitness.

“I don't know if others will talk about this or not, but in my view, Team India's fitness is not ideal. Apart from the likes of Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya, fitness is not their strongest point. Some of the key and outstanding are not outstanding on the field. They lack pace in bowling and they don't take their chances in the field,” Salman Butt said.

Salman Butt further opined on his channel that Rishabh Pant lacked fitness as well. The southpaw has not been among the fittest cricketers as compared to Virat Kohli. One can say that his fitness can also be a reason for his continued failure in the shortest format of the game.

“Virat Kohli has set an example for others in fitness. Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya are so fit. They have outstanding fitness, but there are players like Rohit Sharma, even KL Rahul looked lethargic today, you know, Rishabh Pant. If they become fit, they will become more dangerous cricketers,” he concluded.
