The power couple, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma participated in the exhibition Badminton match to support PUMA India's ongoing groundbreaking project Let There Be Sport, which challenges the widely-held belief that sports are a distraction from academics.

Virat and Anushka, who have demonstrated their dedication to fitness over the years, unexpectedly entered a posh residential community in the city and impromptu formed a team to compete in a friendly mixed doubles badminton match in opposition to two fortunate residents of the community.

The thrilling match not only included friendly rivalry and entertaining banter, but it also featured Virat as well as Anushka in a hitherto unseen role, as the two powerfully emphasised the need of combining exercise and sports into daily life.

What did Virat Kohli say about this new project?

Virat Kohli spoke on the occasion and discussed the importance of sports in the lives of the people. “Sports has to be an integral part of everyone's life. I'm glad that PUMA recognised the need and came forward wholeheartedly to highlight the importance of making it essential just like other necessities.”

He further spoke about his interaction with the locals and was excited to see employees do some fitness exercises. He said, “It was great fun taking time out from our schedules to interact with locals and crashing a meeting at the co-working space to get employees to do fitness challenges. I hope many will be motivated and inspired today and take up sports and fitness as a life skill."

Virat and Anushka first visited a co-working facility, surprising the workers there as they went about their usual business. They engaged the staff in enjoyable fitness challenges after interacting with them and outlining the advantages of making physical activity a priority in daily life.

Recently, Virat and star footballer Sunil Chhetri talked at PUMA's Let There Be Sport Conclave about the importance of sports and fitness in the nation and shared motivational tales from their individual journeys. The conclave also aired a 90-second digital film that showcases everyday athletes as well as its ambassadors for the brand which includes Virat, MC Mary Kom, Sunil, Avani Lekhara, and Bhagwani Devi.
