The Border Gavaskar Trophy will be played in India for the first time since 2016-17. The last time India played the Australia series they won the series 2-1. Before the start of the current series, a lot of banters and barbs have been directed at both India and Australia. This will be a four-match Test series between the two sides.

Former Australia cricketer Ian Healy’s comments on the type of pitches provided in India have created quite a stir on the internet. He said that Australia will not be successful in India if India produces “unfair wickets” to which Prasad strongly shot back with a strong rebuttal saying Australia purposely wanted to lose the 2018 and 2021 Test series by providing “unfair pitches”.

This comment from Ian Healy has created a spark - Ravichandran Ashwin

“So Australia prepared unfair pitches against India in 2018-19 and 2020-21 to lose both test series at their home,” Prasad had tweeted. "I think if they produce fair Indian wickets, that are good batting wickets, to start with, (that) probably spin and spin pretty consistently but spin a long way, late in the match … we (Australia) win. I'm worried about (Mitchell) Starc and (Nathan) Lyon in the first Test … if they're unfair wickets which I've seen in the last series, where balls were jumping ridiculously and sliding down low from day one, I think India play those conditions better than us," This was Healy’s controversial comment.

Ravichandran Ashwin, India off-spinner spoke about the mind games that Australia play before the series and Healy’s comments have indeed created a big spark ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. This is what he said on his YouTube channel.

"Healy's quote has set a spark with this take. It's Border-Gavaskar Trophy guys. So we need this spark, right? Besides, banters will keep coming from the Australian camp for sure. We saw what Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja had to say. Eben Marnus Labuschagne and Matt Renshaw have said some controversial things. Renshaw said that you need to analyse a few things in India like who is taking the new ball and stuff.
