Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will not face off once again in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, which means no more Virat Kohli-Naveen-ul-Haq-Gautam Gambhir on-field brawls this season. However, the feud appears to have continued on the internet, as LSG pacer Naveen took a shot at RCB and Kohli in a cryptic Instagram post following their elimination from the 16th edition of the IPL on Sunday, May 21.

It was a must-win game for Faf du Plessis and Co to enter the playoffs after Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday afternoon. The toss was not in RCB's favour in a rain-interrupted game, but the 2016 runners-up had no choice but to start all guns blazing. The intent was visible in the RCB openers as Kohli and du Plessis once again provided the team with a solid powerplay.

However, from a scoreboard reading at 67-1 in 7.1 overs after the RCB skipper's wicket, they lost two key wickets in a row. Michael Bracewell and Kohli then took the responsibility and formed a good partnership. Mohammad Shami broke the 47-run partnership, but Kohli steadied the ship by scoring his seventh IPL century to give the team a respectable total.

Shubman Gill-Vijay Shankar partnership led GT to a resounding victory

Kohli's lone fight (101 off 61 balls) put them in the driver's seat, but the defending champions, especially Shubman Gill, had other plans. The visitors lost the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha early on, but like Kohli, Gill remained at the crease till the end and scored back-to-back hundreds. A 123-run partnership between the 23-year-old and Vijay Shankar sealed the match for GT, denying RCB a playoff spot.

Soon after the result, Naveen took to Instagram Story to mock RCB and Kohli by sharing a video of a famous African journalist laughing. Although he made no mention of RCB or Kohli, it was clear that the Afghanistan seamer was targeting them, given the recent incidents. The two got into an intense verbal fight during the LSG vs RCB match at the Ekana Cricket Ground on May 1.
