The Indian Cricket Board had made things clear through a directive that all Indian players should give importance to domestic cricket. Players like Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were the ones who ignored this and paid the price. Both of these players were not included in the annual contract in international cricket. It looks highly unlikely that they will feature in international cricket right now as well.
Even though Shreyas Iyer is now playing in the semi-final of the Ranji trophy, there is no sign of Kishan playing any domestic cricket. Ishan Kishan was supposed to be in the Test series vs South Africa but was called out of it due to mental fatigue. There has been speculation around Ishan Kishan and his reason for not getting selected for the Test series against England as well. Ishan has not been in any form of domestic cricket as well even after some advice from the board and the management.
Kishan refuses to play series
There is finally some recent news that has surfaced about Ishan Kishan right now. It has been brought to everyone’s attention that the left-handed wicketkeeper batter openly refused to play the Test series against England. This has caused fans to have a negative reaction towards the cricketer. This news has gone viral all over social media and Kishan has chosen to give franchise cricket more importance than domestic or international cricket.
This just keeps the Jharkhand player in a terrible limelight. However, we still don’t know the entire story behind this and we should be careful before passing any judgement. It is still sad to see the talented pocket dynamo get into such situations with a lot of big tournaments coming up. We hope Kishan can learn from these instances and get back to playing some serious cricket in the future.
Here's how the fans have reacted-
