India’s batting legend  Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma celebrates their 6th wedding anniversary on 11th December 2023. The power couple of India got married on 11th December 2017 in a hush-hush wedding ceremony in Italy’s Tuscany which was one of the most scenic places and a hotspot for high-profile weddings of many celebrities.

Although the couple was highly secretive about their wedding they didn't shied away from expressing their love and respect for each other in public since then. The couple have been blessed with a beautiful daughter on 11th January 2021 whom they have named ‘Vamika’. 

Today marks the 6th year of the couple’s beautiful association with each other, their marriage was as beautiful as their relationship is. It was big an affair for their fans and the buzz it created among people made their wedding a national news that got everybody going.

All the information regarding the date and venue of the wedding was kept a secret by the couple as both the sports and entertainment media went into a frenzy to get the details regarding their wedding confirmation, date, and venue. It was like a national spectacle as everybody was talking and discussing their wedding.

It can be said that it revolutionized the Indian wedding scene as many celebrity couples have been seen following their footsteps by secretly got married and later posting their marriage pictures in the social media. 

When Anushka was asked about their secret marriage and the reason why they chose to do it this way, she responded that they wanted it keep their marriage a personal matter and didn’t want to feel like they were some sort of celebrity on their most special day.

Anushka said, “We wanted to keep it genuine. We didn’t want it to be adulterated and touched by anything, which would remind us that we’re celebrities." She further added, “We were with our parents and our siblings, who’ve sacrificed so much for us, our closest friends, who’ve supported us through our worst. If we’d allowed it to become public in any way, we would be reminded of our public standing. 

“We didn’t want that. We just wanted to be like two people in love. We never counted for who we were publicly when we fell in love. Our beings fell in love. We wanted to feel that purity at our wedding. That’s why we kept it so close to our hearts and kept it away from anything, which would make us think about anything other than us and the people who were part of this. It was surreal.”
