This prohibition, came in force for over a decade, affected renowned players like Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Sohail Tanvir, Shoaib Malik, and Shoaib Akhtar, restricting their participation beyond the inaugural season. However, amidst this ban, Hasan Ali, a formidable bowler representing Pakistan, has boldly expressed his desire to make his mark in the IPL.
In a recent interview with a local news program, Hasan Ali conveyed his eagerness to overcome this barrier and play for one of the IPL teams. He said, "Every player wants to play IPL, and it is my wish to play there. It is one of the biggest leagues in the world, and I will play there if there is an opportunity in the future,".

However, despite the ban some former Pakistan players like Azhar Mehmood has played in the IPL while because of giving up his Pakistan nationality and being turned into British citizen. Mohammad Amir is set to follow the same path to fulfill his IPL desires.
