Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan and South Africa's Marco Jansen had a heated exchange during their all-important World Cup 2023 clash between South Africa and Pakistan.

Mohammad Rizwan is known for being calm and religious both on and off the field but things got heated up between him and the South African all-rounder Marco Jansen in the all-important World Cup clash between South Africa and Pakistan in Chennai.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat on a humid afternoon at a dry Chennai surface. South African bowlers managed to pick up two crucial wickets early on dismissing both the Pakistan openers Abdullah Shafique(9) and Imam-ul-Haq(12) cheaply. But as soon as Rizwan came onto the crease, he showed positive intent by charging from the get which didn’t go well with Marco Jansen as Rizwan hit a boundary on a top edge off Marco Jansen, the latter didn’t hesitate in giving it back to Riwan.

But to everyone’s surprise, Rizwan didn’t hold back too and gave it back to Marco Jansen. Rizwan didn’t hold back and carried on with his aggressive way before getting out on 31 off 27 deliveries. Marco Jansen too picked up 3 wickets in the innings and Pakistan managed to get a total of 270 runs in their innings.

Babar Azam also scored a gritty half-century before perishing off the left-arm leg spin of Tabrez Shamsi. Pakistan would be a bit disappointed with their final score as would be feeling that they are 20-25 runs short as they didn’t even manage to play their full quota of 50 overs.

Rizwan’s Aggressive antics stole the show

Mohammad Rizwan has been in the news in the past few weeks for his on and off-the field antics. In today’s match also South African all-rounder Marco Jansen and Mohammad Rizwan had a heated exchange during the game, with Jansen giving Rizwan a cold stare after he was hit for a boundary. Rizwan retaliated by telling him to "Just Go and Ball," and Jansen fired back a few words. South African pacer Gerald Coetzee stepped in to break up the argument before it escalated.
