The Australia vs West Indies Test series has started with another one-sided affair between the two sides. The West Indies were put on the backfoot straight away by the Aussie bowlers as they were bowled out for just 188 in the first innings. None of the Caribbean batters were able to get a score on the board except for Kirk McKenzie who scored his maiden fifty. This was another day where the Aussie bowlers Josh Hazlewood and skipper Pat Cummins wreaked havoc once again in a Test match.

The Australian innings did not have the best of starts as well but still managed to get 283 on the board and take the lead over the West Indies. The shining light for West Indies with the ball was Shamar Joseph who took a fifer on debut and tried to get his team back into the game. However, it was still too much for the batters in the second innings as the Caribbean giants were once again skittled out for just 120 on the back of another brilliant spell from Hazlewood and the Aussies were given a target of just 26 which they chased down without much hassle.

Travis Head made the difference

The only batter who looked good in this 3-day dead rubber was Travis Head as he scored his 7th Test hundred in the time when the Aussies needed him the most. The flamboyant Southpaw went on to score 119 of 134 deliveries which included 12 fours and 3 sixes. Hewad was the only batter who was looking assured at the crease with his aggressive style of middle and getting a lead for the Baggy Greens in the 1st innings. There is no doubt that the man is still making a habit of scoring big runs when his team needs him the most.

This Adelaide Test match turned out to be another Aussie-dominated event where the West Indies hardly had a say in the game and only had certain glimpses. McKenzie and Joseph were the only two people who were looking good in the game as the rest of them failed to get through their innings. Even West Indies skipper Kraig Brathwaite was not up to the mark in this innings ending up with low scores once again. This is surely another match to forget for a Windies side which is still struggling to make a mark
