Danish Kaneria's twitter reaction to Shoaib Akhtar after Pakistan’s historic defeat catches fans' attention

Shoaib Akhtar had a flurry of tweets supporting Pakistan before the India match but eventually got played by Danish Kaneria and Sachin Tendulkar after Pakistan's poor performance.

Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria jokingly teased his former teammate and fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar on Twitter for his "fire in the belly" tweet for the Pakistani team. Akhtar, who is the fastest bowler ever to play the game, has become known for his social media antics and Twitter reactions since retiring.

Before the highly anticipated ODI World Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan, Pakistani cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar tweeted his support for the Pakistani team. However, after Pakistan lost the match, Akhtar tweeted that it takes fire in the belly to silence a crowd of over 100,000 people. Former Pakistani teammate Danish Kaneria jokingly responded to Akhtar's tweet, telling him to rekindle the fire, implying that Akhtar's passion had waned.

After Pakistan’s dismal performance, Shoaib tweeted “Sawa lakh banda akele chup kerwanay k liye fire chahiye hota hai. Yeh sirf tab ho sakta hai jab aap k andar wo aag ho.” In response to it, Danish Kaneria tweeted “Aag thandi ho chuki hai. Wapas jalao Shoaib bhai :)”.

Earlier, Shoaib Akhtar joined the frenzy going around the India-Pakistan match by tweeting that history will repeat itself in front of more than 1,30,000 crowd in Ahmedabad with the hashtag “Thand Rakh” where he was referring to the spell he bowled in 1999 in Kolkata in front of a gigantic crowd where he took back to back wickets of Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar and silenced the whole crowd.

But after the drubbing Pakistan got by India, where the visiting team was bundled at a score of 191 and India chased the total with more than 7 wickets and 17 overs in hand, Shoaib Akhtar was seen praising Rohit Sharma and India on his YouTube channel.

Post the match, Shoaib Akhtar said on his Youtube channel that the Pakistani bowlers were humbled by Rohit Sharma’s clean hitting and the way he smashed Pakistani bowlers he availed revenge for his last two year’s average performance against Pakistan.

This time, even the normally subdued Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar took a dig on Twitter at Shoaib Akhtar’s pre-match tweet by replying that his advice was followed by team India as they kept everything easy and won the match in a cool style.

India defeated Pakistan in the 50-over World Cup for the 8th consecutive time, extending their winning streak that began in 1992. Pakistan will look to bounce back in their next match against Australia on October 20 in Bengaluru.
